Abstract
An ink consumption detection unit includes the contact tape whose one end is secured to the tank case side and the other end to the flexible ink bag side, and the contact electrode member secured to the ink bag side and placed in contact with the contact tape As the ink in the ink bag is consumed, the contact electrode member is moved. When the contact electrode member comes into contact with a plurality of contact electrodes EA, EB, EC representing ink consumptions in stages, the ink consumption detection unit successively issues detection signals representing the ink consumptions.
