Abstract
A collecting exhaust port provided in a, cylinder head is comprised of exhaust port sections extending from exhaust valve bores in cylinders and an exhaust collecting section in which the exhaust port sections are collected. The cylinder head includes a protrusion projecting in an arch shape outside a side wall of a cylinder block The exhaust collecting section of the collecting exhaust port directly faces an inner surface of a side wall of the protrusion Water jackets J and J for cooling the protrusion are provided in upper and lower surfaces of the protrusion having the collecting exhaust port defined therein. The water jackets J and J are not provided between the side wall of the protrusion and the exhaust collecting section Thus, the compact cylinder head having the collecting exhaust port integrally provided therein can be formed, while avoiding the complication of the structure of a core.
