Abstract
A Java television receiver ( ) includes a Java television platform ( ) that has a bidirectional Internet connection ( ) capable of sending Internet data to the Java television platform ( ) and transmitting data from the Java television platform ( ) to an Internet provider. Additionally, a tuner/decoder ( ) connected to the Java television platform ( ) is provided which can receive, tune and decode television signals.
