Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for the production of an aluminum-containing iron oxide crystallization nucleus with a &agr;-FeOOH crystal structure from FeCl . This nucleus is suitable as starting material for the production of iron oxide red (&agr;-Fe O ) via &agr;-FeOOH as an intermediate product.
