Abstract

A dual fuel tank ( ) including first fuel tank ( ) and a second fuel tank ( ). A single fuel hose ( ) allows fuel to enter the first fuel tank ( ) from an outside source. When the fuel level in the first fuel tank ( ) reaches an overflow level ( ), fuel passes through a transfer tube ( ) from the first fuel tank ( ) into the second fuel tank ( ). A transfer fuel pump ( ) communicates fuel from the second fuel tank ( ) to the first fuel tank ( ) such that the level of fuel in the first tank ( ) is maximized relative to the available fuel in the system. A main fuel pump ( ) communicates fuel from the first fuel pump ( ) to a remote target ( ). In this way the fuel is available from a single location within the dual fuel tank ( ) at a wider range of angles of vehicle travel.
