Abstract

An immunochemical label comprising finely particulate carbon black on which is adsorptively immobilized a component which terminates distally from a point of adsorption with an immunologically active ligand or ligand binding molecule wherein said component comprises said immunological ligand or ligand binding molecules covalently linked through a linking reagent, and said linking reagent is adsorbed on the surface of said carbon black.
