Abstract
A booster seat has a seat member ( ) and armrests ( ), and the distance between the armrests ( ) can be automatically changed according to the height of the support portion ( ) of the seat member ( ). The armrests ( ) are formed on side members ( ) extended on the opposite sides of the support portion ( ) of the seat member on a base ( ) mounted on a seat of a vehicle. Tapered, wedge-shaped blocks ( ) are arranged on the inner side surfaces of the side members ( ) so as to extend toward a middle portion of the support portion ( ). When the side members ( ) and the wedge-shaped blocks ( ) are moved on the base ( ) in directions along the width of the support portion ( ), the seat member ( ) is moved vertically relative to the base ( ) by the cooperative action of the upper surfaces ( ) of the wedge-shaped blocks ( ) and the bottom surface ( ) of the seat member ( ) and, at the same time, the distance between the armrests ( ) is adjusted.
