Abstract

A plurality of ink droplets are discharged from the same nozzle during one printing cycle so as to perform multiple gray level printing. A group of driving pulses including an initial pulse P a first subsequent pulse P and a second subsequent pulse P in one printing cycle is supplied to an actuator. Time intervals t t and t between pulses are set to satisfy t &lE;t <t &lE;t with respect to the natural period t of the actuator.
