Abstract
A vehicle cruising control device has a vehicle-position/traveling-direction calculating circuit which receives data from a GPS signal receiver , a vehicle speed sensor , an angular-velocity sensor and a map data base to specify a road on which the vehicle is traveling and a road property gain circuit which gains a sort of road from the map data base , as road property. In the device, a driving force control unit controls a vehicle driving unit on the ground of the sort of road. If the map matching becomes to be improper, then the road property gain circuit operates to maintain the road property just before malfunction of the map matching until a traveling-distance after malfunction of the map matching reaches a predetermined distance. The traveling-distance is calculated by a traveling-distance calculating circuit
