A hybrid vehicle including a power take off assembly which is selectively and solely operated by the cooperative combination of a battery and a motor with the amount of electrical charge which is resident within the battery is depleted by a certain amount. Upon such depletion, the internal combustion engine is activated to provide electrical charge to the battery
