Abstract
A simple arrangement ( ) for lubricating a countershaft brake ( ). A countershaft brake ( ) is attached to an end of a countershaft ( ) of a transmission ( ), and a counter gear ( ) is mounted on the countershaft ( ) near the countershaft brake ( ). An oil pool ( ) is formed in a transmission housing ( ) to immerse at least part of the gear ( ) when the counter gear ( ) is not rotating. A plate member ( ) extends over the oil pool ( ) for obstructing oil splashed up by rotations of the counter gear ( ). An oil passage ( ) is formed for introducing the oil obstructed by the plate member ( ) to the countershaft brake ( ).
