Abstract

A process for the preparation of &agr;-(2,4-disulfophenyl)-N-tert-butylnitrone diacids and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof by the reaction of the corresponding disulfophenyl aldehyde with N-tert-butylhydroxylammonium acetate is disclosed.
