Abstract
An electrical connector assembly ( ) includes a D-Sub connector ( ), a triplex audio jack connector ( ), and a board edge connector ( ) all mounted to a sound card ( ), the whole being assembled into a connector housing ( ) having a rear cover ( ) with a shielding plate ( ). The board edge connector is mountable to a motherboard ( ). The result is a sound package including sound card and connectors which takes up less space on the motherboard than separate sound card and connectors. The new connector assembly with internal sound card thus results in greater efficiency.
