Abstract
Light is applied by a laser diode onto a photosensitive roll formed with a developed toner image the surface potential of the photosensitive roll to which the light is applied is measured with a surface potential sensor and the toner amount of the developed toner image on the photosensitive roll is derived based on the measured surface potential.
