Abstract

An electrical connector ( ) includes an insulative housing ( ) defining a receiving cavity ( ), a contact insert ( ), a conductive outer shield ( ) enclosing the insulative housing, and a number of LED elements ( ) assembled to the insulative housing. The contact insert extends in the receiving cavity and divides the receiving cavity into a pair of plug-receiving cavities. The contact insert has a printed circuit board ( ), a pair of contact modules ( ) respectively mounted to a first and a second surfaces of the printed circuit board, a pair of magnetic modules ( ) electrically mounted to the first surface of the printed circuit board and a pair of footers ( ) mounted to the second surface of the printed circuit board. The contact modules respectively have electrical contacts ( ) extending into the plug-receiving cavities and electrically connected with the footers through the printed circuit board.
