Abstract
A process and system capable of accurately extracting the image of a light ray projected onto a workpiece from various images even if the projected light image formed on the workpiece is short in length. A first picture image picked up prior to bending of the workpiece W and a second picture image picked up after completion of the bending operation are respectively assigned to XY pixels, and these pixels are divided into two groups according to whether each pixel is assigned either of the picture images, thereby obtaining images a and b. Each pixel of the image a is compared to its corresponding pixel of the image b, these pixels having the same coordinate value, and logical operation is performed based on a logical operation table. In this way, a pixel image (image c) which corresponds to the projected light image formed on the workpiece only can be extracted.
