Abstract
It is an object of the present invention to provide a disk device that can use disks of different diameter sizes and can be used in a vertical orientation. A disk tray ( ) that makes up the disk drive has holding members ( ) which hold a disk inserted in depressions ( ) from outside its surface. The holding members ( ) are construed so as to be able to move along guide grooves ( ). By moving holding members ( ) to fit the diameter size of the disk that is to be inserted in the depressions ( ) the lower part of the disk can be held by the holding members ( ) even if the disk device is used in vertical orientation.
