Abstract
A linear motion unit ( ) includes a runner ( ) that is arranged so as to be movable along a rod ( ). Provided in front of and/or behind the runner ( ) are support units ( ) that support the rod ( ) relative to a counter-element ( ). Provided on the runner ( ) and the support units ( ) are catches ( ) that in each case can be brought into latched engagement with the adjacent support unit ( ). The support units ( ) are each comprised of a base body ( ) upon which is movably mounted a control element ( ). The control element ( ) can be moved between at least one latched position and at least one released position by means of a control track ( ). In accordance with the invention, the control element ( ) has at least one control recess ( ). Furthermore, the control track ( ) includes at least one control projection ( ) that is arranged at an angle to the direction of motion (L), so that when the support unit ( ) moves in the direction of motion (L), the control projection ( ) moves the control element ( ) essentially perpendicular to both the direction of motion (L) and the direction of extension of the recess.
