Abstract
A method is provided for connecting a terminal fitting and a flat conductor to achieve a high contact pressure between the terminal fitting and a conductive path. A FFC ( ) has an insulation sheet ( ) adjacent the end stripped to expose a conductor ( ). The FFC ( ) is inserted between first and second squeezing plates ( ) of a terminal fitting ( ). Complimentary recessed/projected portions ( ) are formed on the outer surfaces of a pair of upper and lower press dies ( ) for pressing the terminal fitting ( ). The terminal fitting ( ) is pressed by the press dies ( ). Thus, the FFC and the terminal fitting ( ) are pressed together into a single unit and the squeezing plates ( ) are formed into a zigzag configuration.
