Abstract

For a round dual-bearing reel manufactured of metal, a handle attachment structure to impart a classic feel to the outward appearance of the reel unit, to prevent fishing line from getting tangled on, and debris from adhering to the outer surface of the handle. The handle attachment structure, for non-rotatively attaching a handle ( ) to an end of a handle shaft ( ) in which a male-threaded portion ( ) is formed, includes a handle arm ( ), a nut ( ) and a retainer ( ). The handle arm ( ) has an oblong hole ( ) with which the handle is mounted non-rotatively to the end of the handle shaft ( ), and a non-circular accommodating recess ( ) of a predetermined depth formed around the oblong hole ( ) on an outer surface of the handle arm. The nut ( ) has a polygonal nut portion ( ), which is screwed to the end of the handle shaft ( ). The retainer ( ), which is accommodated in the accommodating recess ( ), is substantially coplanar with the outer surface of the handle arm ( ), and stops the rotation of the nut ( ) by engaging with the nut portion ( ) of the nut ( ).
