Abstract
A sealing element for dry running systems has a segmented sealing ring ( ) which comprises at least two ring segments ( ) which are arranged adjacently in its peripheral direction, with two adjacent ring segments ( ) each contacting one another in the assembled state along an intersection line ( ) which subtends an intersection angle (&agr;) which is different from 90° to a tangent ( ) at the inner jacket surface ( ) of the sealing ring ( ). The sealing ring ( ) has an axial height (H ) which amounts to at most 5.5 mm, in particular to between 2 mm and 4.5 mm.
