Abstract
In a method of determining the shape of reflective surface of reflector in the structure in which the basic shape is a free-formed surface satisfying shape constraints or the like and in which reflective surface elements are assigned to an array of segments obtained by dividing the free-formed surface , evaluation and selection of the surface shape is carried out at two stages; i.e., evaluation and selection according to light incidence angles at the stage of creation of the free-formed surface and evaluation and selection according to light reflecting regions at the stage of creation of a reflective surface consisting of a plurality of reflective surface elements. This reduces nonuniformity of in-surface light distribution during on periods of a lamp, in the reflective surface obtained, and thus improves design efficiency thereof.
