Abstract

In a pump, particularly for cooling water, with an impeller wheel ( ) that is supported so that it can rotate in a pump chamber ( ), an excitation device ( ) for driving the impeller wheel ( ) to rotate, and a control circuit ( ) for the excitation device ( ), the control circuit ( ) and the excitation device ( ) are thermally separated from one another by the pump chamber ( ). The waste heat of the excitation device ( ) is removed by the fluid circulating in the pump chamber ( ) to the extent that the control circuit ( ) is prevented from overheating.
