Abstract
A latching mechanism ( ) for an adjustable squeeze-off clamp ( ) comprising a static jaw ( ), a movable jaw ( ) with an associated adjustment member ( ) and an over-the-center operating linkage including an operating handle ( ) and a link ( ). The latching mechanism is selectively automatic whereby, when the lock mode is selected and the clamp is then closed, it automatically locks. The latch mechanism includes a spring ( ) and a latch bar ( ) with pivotal mounting ( ) and notched end ( ). In at least one embodiment, the latching mechanism includes an eccentric knob ( ) for selection of the automatic locking mode.
