Abstract
A main cartridge body unit for housing a disc-shaped recording medium which can be reduced in size and thickness. To this end, the main cartridge body unit includes a flexible magnetic disc , an upper plate of a metal material and a lower plate of a metal material, forming a plate pair, and an intermediate frame sandwiched between the upper and lower plates . A flexible magnetic disc is housed in the inside of the main cartridge body unit . The main cartridge body unit includes recording and/or reproducing apertures for exposing portions of the recording area of the flexible magnetic disc to outside across the inner and outer rims of the disc. The main cartridge body unit also includes a shutter member for opening/closing the recording and/or reproducing apertures
