Abstract

A body ( ) movably supports a holder ( ) for movement in a vertical direction. A piezo actuator ( ) is sandwiched between the body ( ) and the holder ( ). Vertical vibrations of the piezo actuator ( ) are transmitted to a cutter ( ) attached to a lower end portion of the holder ( ), so that a scribe line is formed on a workpiece ( ). The holder ( ) is supported by a resilient member and a slide support portion ( ) with the piezo actuator ( ) placed therebetween. The resilient member includes a plate spring ( ) and a ball ( ) made of resilient material. The resilient member resiliently supports the holder ( ) in the vibrating directions.
