Abstract
A method for separating at least a benzothiophene compound from a hydrocarbon mixture is disclosed. The method includes contacting the mixture of a fraction obtained therefrom with a reagent including an acceptor complexing agent &pgr;, to obtain a donor-acceptor complex between the acceptor complexing agent and the benzothiophene compound; and separating the complex from the mixture, or from the fraction, to obtain a fraction depleted or purified in the benzothiophene compound.
