Abstract

An apparatus and method for threading a yarn onto a draw texturing machine comprising a main frame ( ) provided with twisting devices ( ) and second heaters ( ) and a winding frame ( ) provided with winding devices ( ) are disposed sandwiching an operator's aisle ( ) therebetween. A yarn (Y) leaving the second heater is guided along the operator's aisle to the winding device mounted on the winding frame. The second heater ( ) has a yarn threading slit ( ) formed therein, and a guiding pipe ( ) having a spiral cross section and yarn disengaging slit ( ) formed therein is disposed adjacent to the yarn threading slit ( ). Along the operator's aisle ( ), an extendable yarn guide pipe ( ) and a fourth movable yarn feed roller device ( ) are disposed. A yarn feed tube ( ) provided with a yarn feed nozzle ( ) is disposed between the extended end of the yarn guide pipe ( ) and the winding device ( ). The apparatus and method of the invention allows an operator to thread the yarn around the operator's aisle without bending.
