Abstract
A radio communication device has a variable resistor and a power amplifier and a variable power amplifier as variable power amplification means. Gain control of the variable resistor and the variable power amplifier is performed for controlling transmission power of the radio communication device so that detection power detected in a first transmission power detection section and detection power detected in a second transmission power detection section are made equal by a variable power amplification control section . At this time, when the detection power difference becomes zero, the variable resistor and the power amplifier are switched off under the control of a switch control section for prolonging the time period over which power supply is stopped.
