Abstract

In a waveguide provided with a magnetron , a container made of quartz glass and containing a porous body is placed. The container is connected to a water supply pipe , a steam delivery pipe and a drain pipe . Pure water regulated at a preset flow rate by a flow control valve drops on the upper face of the porous body , and infiltrates into the porous body . When the magnetron sends out microwave radiation to the waveguide , the pure water contained in the porous body is heated by the microwave, and instantaneously evaporates. The steam of pure water escapes from every surface of the porous body and delivered through the steam delivery pipe . An appropriate control of the flow rate of the pure water by the flow control valve and the output power of the magnetron can make an appropriate control of the flow rate of the steam, so that all the pure water supplied to the porous body is converted to steam.
