Abstract

An expansion valve comprises a prism-shaped body , and a valve chamber is formed within the body . Refrigerant supplied from a compressor flows into the valve chamber through a passage , passes between a valve means and a valve seat , and travels toward an evaporator through a passage . Refrigerant returning from the evaporator enters the body through a passage , and after the refrigerant temperature information is transmitted to the operating shaft , the refrigerant flows out through a passage toward the compressor. Passages and open to a first side surface of the body, and passages and open to a second side surface orthogonal to the first surface. Such structure improves the degree of freedom for mounting the expansion valve
