Abstract

When the surface roughness of a work face of the workpiece ( ) fixed onto the surface plate table ( ) in the work tank ( ) in which the work fluid ( ) is stored is more than a predetermined value, the bladder ( ) capable of expanding or contracting by the pressure of fluid accommodated in the bladder ( ) is contracted, and a space between the work tank ( ) and the surface plate table ( ) is filled with the work fluid ( ), and electric discharge work is conducted. When the surface roughness of a work face of the workpiece ( ) is not more than a predetermined value, the bladder ( ) is expanded, and a quantity of the work fluid ( ) getting into between the work tank ( ) and the surface plate table ( ) is reduced and electric discharge work is conducted.
