Abstract

An intermediate sleeve ( ) to be rigidly connected to the end of the motor shaft ( ) is provided, having an inner surface ( ) of frusto-conical shape adapted to fit the frusto-conical surface ( ) of the motor shaft ( ), and a cylindrical outer surface ( ), and having at least one rib ( ), projecting radially from the cylindrical outer surface ( ) and positioned to the side thereof; the end of the pump shaft ( ) possesses an axial cavity ( ) having a cylindrical surface ( ) adapted to engage as an exact fit the outer surface ( ) of the sleeve ( ), and has at least one projecting axial element ( ), arranged to lie axially alongside said rib ( ) of the intermediate sleeve ( ), and to interfere therewith during rotation. There is also provided an intermediate ring ( ), which fits onto that axial portion of the sleeve ( ) involving the at least one rib ( ) and has an annular cavity which surrounds the outer surface of the sleeve ( ) and is divided into at least two separate sectors ( ) by radial baffles ( ), of which a first sector ( ) is arranged to receive the at least one rib ( ) of the sleeve ( ) as an exact fit, and the second sector ( ) is arranged to receive the axial element ( ) as an exact fit.
