Abstract
A rail tie plate suitable for attachement to a wood tie has a pair of upstanding abutment members to accommodate a rail flange, each having an opening allowing insertion of a rail clip. The tie plate tapers on thickness and has an upper side canted with respect to the lower side. The lower side is provided with wedge shaped projections that tapers laterally in the same direction as the tie plate and have an end face making an angle no greater than ° with respect to the lower side.
