Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for improving the stability of aqueous polymer dispersions to thermal and/or mechanical effects and comprises adding to said aqueous polymer dispersions at least one salt of a bis-C -C -alkyl ester of a sulfonated dicarboxylic acid having 4 to 8 carbon atoms.
