Abstract
An electronic air cleaner assembly ( ) for attachment to an air handling unit AHU ( ) of an air-conditioning system has a housing ( ) containing a plurality of electrostatic filter cells ( ). One side wall ( ) of the housing ( ) is pivotally mounted to a side ( ) of the AHU ( ) by hinges ( ) and the opposite side wall ( ) is releasably attached to the opposite wall ( ) of the AHU ( ) by a releasable locking device ( ). Wheels ( ) are provided on the housing ( ) to assist in moving it from a closed position to an open position which allows access to the heat exchanger coil(s) ( ) of the AHU ( ). The electrostatic filter cells ( ) may be readily removed either through the open front face or through one of the walls of the housing ( ) for checking and maintenance.
