Abstract
A passenger oxygen mask assembly ( ) is provided which is adapted to be supported on an existing mask-supporting fixture ( ). The assembly ( ) includes a hanger ( ) having a fixture attachment portion ( ) and a mask-retaining portion ( ), as well as a conventional oxygen mask ( ). The attachment portion ( ) has a lower leg ( ) presenting a recess ( ) adapted to receive the mounting post ( ) of a fixture ( ), as well as upstanding support arms ( ). The mask-retaining portion ( ) includes segments ( ) supported by the arms ( ). When the hanger ( ) is mounted on a fixture ( ), a mask ( ) may be inserted into the hanger ( ) and is releasably retained thereby.
