Abstract
A frame clamp for an anchor strap assembly ( ) for a manufactured home ( ) having a frame member ( ), such as an I-beam ( ), and supported above ground ( ), such as by piers ( ). Anchor strap assembly ( ) includes elongate anchor strap ( ) connecting a ground anchor ( ) to frame clamp ( ). Ground anchor ( ) includes head ( ) fixed near ground ( ) to the side of beam ( ). Clamp ( ) attaches top end ( ) of strap ( ) to beam ( ) and comprises stationary jaw ( ) and movable jaw ( ) joined such that movable jaw ( ) to which strap ( ) is attached is pivotable about axis ( ) perpendicular to the plane of strap ( ) and such that movable jaw ( ) is hinged such that tensioning strap ( ) clamps beam ( ) between jaws ( ). Clamp ( ) is easily attached and prevents strap breakage during home movement such as during an earthquake or storm.
