Abstract

Transceiver circuitry ( ) for use in a GBIC module uses readily available off the shelf components to satisfy the specifications of the GBIC standard. A diode cross over quad ( ) is utilized to extend the input range of a low input differential receiver ( ). A voltage divider ( ) and parallel transistors ( ) are utilized to insure that the differential voltage of the received differential signal is at an acceptable level. A coaxial cable driver ( ) designed to drive 50 ohms is utilized to drive 150 ohms.
