Abstract
In an image-sensing device, the output of an area sensor obtained as an electric signal logarithmically proportional to the amount of incident light is converted by a conversion circuit into an electric signal linearly proportional to the amount of incident light by use of a conversion formula for exponential conversion stored in a memory . The thus converted output is fed to a processing circuit so that, even if the area sensor is a LOG sensor, the processing circuit of a conventional circuit design configured to process a linearly converted signal can process the electric signal output from the area sensor
