Abstract

The invention relates to the use of 2-hydroxy-4-trifluoromethylbenzoic acid derivatives as inhibitors of the activation of the nuclear transcription factor NF-&kgr;B. The invention also relates to the utilization of 2-hydroxy-4-trifluoromethylbenzoic acid derivatives for the preparation of medicaments to treat or prevent of pathologies associated to the activation of NF-&kgr;B and/or the expression of genes which are dependent on or regulated by, at least partially, NF&kgr;B in mammals, including humans.
