Abstract

An integrally formed running board including a plurality of mount projections ( ) extending laterally from an inner edge ( ) with a pair of parallel side walls ( ) extending transversely to the longitudinal axis, a short wall ( ) having ends closer together than the distan between the side walls ( ) and a pair of converging walls ( ) joining the side walls ( ) at joints ( ) and converging from the side walls ( ) to the ends of the short wall ( ). A projection-reinforcing rib ( ) is disposed centrally between and parallel to the side walls ( ) of each of the mount projections ( ). A base rib ( ) extends between the joints ( ) of each pair of the side walls ( ) with the associated pair of the converging walls ( ). A pair of continuing ribs ( ) extend from the side walls ( ) aligned therewith to an outer wall ( ). A pair of crossing ribs ( ) are disposed in an X configuration with each crossing rib ( ) extending diagonally between each pair of the continuing ribs ( ) and intersecting at an apex ( ) so that each projection-reinforcing rib ( ) extends to and joins the adjacent pair of the crossing ribs ( ) at the apex ( ) thereof.
