Abstract
The present invention relates to a pump device for a gas oil tank of a motor vehicle, the device comprising a pump ( ) and a filtering strainer ( ) placed at the intake of the pump ( ), and being characterized by the fact that it includes a valve ( ) disposed in a passage ( ) formed through the strainer ( ) so as to close said passage ( ) in normal operation, the valve ( ) being adapted to open automatically when the pressure difference between the outside of the strainer ( ) and the inside thereof exceeds a threshold because of the strainer ( ) becoming clogged.
