Abstract
An air bag is fixed to a base plate, and a lid is integrally formed in an instrument panel. A frame portion of the lid has hook holes therein. An assembly including the folded air bag is installed to the instrument panel by engaging the hooks with the hook holes. In the air bag device, all or most of components can be used in common in various models with different layout requirements of the space behind instrument panel.
