Abstract

The electric lamp/reflector unit includes a reflector body ( ) having a reflector portion ( ) with a concave reflecting surface ( ), and a neck-shaped portion ( ), both surrounding an optical axis ( ). The unit includes an electric lamp ( ) which is provided with a lamp vessel ( ) having a cavity ( ) wherein an electric light source ( ) is arranged. The cavity ( ) is provided with an infrared-reflecting and visible light-transmitting coating ( ). The electric lamp ( ) has a first ( ) and a second ( ) end portion which are arranged opposite each other and provided with a seal, through which seals respective current conductors ( ) connected via embedded metal foils ( ) to the electric light source ( ) issue from the lamp vessel ( ) to the exterior. According to the invention, the electric lamp ( ) is fitted in the reflector body ( ) with the first end portion ( ) inside the neck-shaped portion ( ), while the cavity ( ) lies within the reflecting portion ( ) and the electric light source ( ) is on the optical axis ( ). The ratio of the distance d ;d , from the connection point ( ) where the current conductor ( ) is connected to the metal foil ( ), to the length l ;l of the first and the second end portion ( ) lies in the range d /l ≧0.75 and d /l ≧0.75, the distance d ;d and the length l ;l being measured with respect to a geometrical center ( ) of the lamp vessel ( ).
