Abstract
The hang-up cup assembly ( ) for a radiotelephone has a cradle ( ) secured to a pedestal ( ) using a ball ( ) and a socket ( ) of a ball-and-socket joint ( ), a screw ( ), and a dome nut ( ). The ball-and-socket joint ( ) is compressed by the screw ( ) and the dome nut ( ) to retain the hang-up cup assembly ( ) in the desired position. The hang-up cup assembly ( ) has a low profile, is easy to install, and can be adjusted by an end user by slightly loosing the easily-accessible screw ( ), repositioning the cradle ( ) relative to the pedestal ( ), and tightening the screw ( ) to compress the ball-and-socket joint ( ) and maintain the desired new position.
