Abstract
A hydroxyapatite consisting substantially of Ca (PO ) (OH) , and having a crystal structure which has at least two diffraction peaks at 31-32 degrees and 26 degrees in X-ray diffractometry; and a process for producing a hydroxyapatite which comprises the step (A) of immersing a substrate in a first aqueous solution containing calcium ions and a second solution containing PO ions to generate the hydroxyapatite at least on the surface of the substrate and the step (B) of recovering the hydroxyapatite from the substrate.
