Abstract
The invention relates to a method of removing endotoxin from preparations of alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (orosomucoid) by contact with a finely divided non-toxic resin such as fumed silica. The invention also relates to a purification process for alpha-1-acid glycoprotein which includes this deprogenation step, and to the depyrogenated product and its clinical uses.
