An information detecting unit ( ) is fixed on the upper surface portion ( ) of the cassette holder ( ) of the recording and/or reproduction system ( ), and the terminal portions ( ) of the detection external terminal ( ) thereof are protruded inward of the upper surface portion ( ) of the cassette holder ( ) and thus brought into contact and connected with the output terminals ( ) of the IC board ( ) of the tape cassette ( ) inserted in the cassette holder.
