Abstract
An oil filter for an internal combustion engine includes a filter body and a plastic filter housing Integrally formed within the filter housing, a safety wall is radially fitted around the feed channel and the return channel creating a collecting space that surrounds both channels. If seal leaks occur when the device is connected to a flange, e.g. of an engine block, the leaked oil will accumulate in the collecting space.
